Did you know that its not that complicated to make your own tinted lip products? What a fun project for a grey day indoors, and what's better than knowing exactly what's gone into the concoction you're polishing your lips with every day?
Here's what you'll need:
2 tbsp Coconut Oil
Your favourite essential oils (just a teensy amount). Blood Orange, Vanilla and Peppermint are all delicious choices.
1 tsp Vitamin E
2 tsp Cocoa Butter
1 tbsp Beeswax
2 Tbsp Olive Oil (you could also use Jojoba)
Beet Root Powder, Hibiscus Powder, Cocoa Powder or other natural powders to add the colour.
You'll have to eyeball the amount to make the shade to your preference.
Double Boiler Sanitized pots or lip butter containers.
How to make:
Step 1 - Melt all of your waxes and oils together with your double-boiler. Do this slowly so as not to burn the oil, and once its all liquid, remove it from the heat.
Step 2 - Add in your Vitamin E, preferred Essential Oils, and the colour to your preference.
Step 3 - Pour the mixture into your lip butter containers and allow to cool and harden.
That's right! It's that easy! Enjoy blending, mixing, and tinting to your hearts delight. Make sure you write down the recipes that turn out perfect for you so you can easily repeat them.
