At Rocky, we see nature differently. We believe in its wisdom, in its wild beauty and in its infinite potential. The very products we create are made from nature, intentionally formulated and handcrafted in the Canadian Rockies. We have a deep connection and respect for the natural world that sustains which is why giving back to nature is so important to us.
By partnering with non-profits and charities that share our deep appreciation for nature, we’re able to work together to protect the Earth we all share.
During our 2023 holiday season, for every purchase of a Rocky gift set or gift box, we donated $1 to the Nature Conservancy of Canada’s Grasslands Project. Thanks to your support, we donated $36,000 to conservation efforts.
Every dollar from this campaign helped safeguard at-risk species and protect one of the most endangered ecosystems on the planet. Canada’s grasslands are essential for sustaining diverse plants and wildlife, while also providing crucial carbon storage to combat climate change.
This year, we're excited to continue this initiative and aim to surpass last year’s contributions, making an even greater impact in preserving our grasslands.
Canada's temperate grasslands reflect the global trend with over 80% of Canada's prairie grasslands having been converted into crops and other land uses which have replaced what were some of the planet’s greatest concentrations of wild grazing animals. Essentially, these animals are losing their home. A 2010 report on Canada's major habitat types revealed that our grasslands are the only ecosystem experiencing persistent degradation and decline due to extensive conversion and insufficient protection.
The Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) is Canada’s leading national land conservation organization. As a private, non-profit land trust, they work collaboratively with individuals, Indigenous communities, other non-profits and governments at all levels to accelerate conservation across the country. Their mission is simple: to protect natural areas that sustain Canada’s plants and wildlife. Since 1962, generous donors and partners have helped them protect 15 million hectares across Canada, and they’re far from done. You can learn more about The Nature Conservancy of Canada here.
