October 16-22 is Waste Reduction Week. WRW happens in the 3rd week of October every year and was developed when several recycling coalitions across Canada got together and defined their mission; To inform Canadians about the environmental and social ramifications of wasteful practices.

The WRW provides resources to schools, businesses and individuals that make it easy to assess current practices, raise local awareness, start a local Waste Reduction Week, and promote waste reducing practices. Click hereto learn more about the WRW and how you can get involved.

The key pillars of waste reduction are still Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Practicing these three R's in our own homes, and supporting our school and businesses to do the same will go a long way towards saving energy, reducing pollution, conserving natural resources, and fighting climate change.

Click herefor our handy tip sheet on some little things you can do in your own home to start reducing waste today.
