So, you're curious about switching to natural. Awesome! But when your cupboard is full of products with ingredients you can't pronounce, and there's so much info on the internet, taking the first steps can be overwhelming. We have been there. And we can help make this easier - fun even!

First, know that this journey is totally yours and every person will go about it differently. There is no judgment here. If you want to switch out a few key products or the whole shebang, it's your call. So here is our guide to make this process enjoyable and help you discover new beauty favourites that you can feel really good about.

1. EDUCATE YOURSELF ON INGREDIENTS
This part sounds boring but it's really important! Reading labels and becoming familiar with common culprits that appear in beauty products can help you make informed decisions about what to buy and what to avoid.

TheThinkDirty Appis a nifty tool where you can scan your beauty products and see how it ranks in terms of toxicity. The Environmental Working Group (EWG) is also a great resource.

Our Red List shows ingredients that you will never find in a Rocky product so you can shop with the freedom of knowing that everything we make is safe and good for you.

2. REPLACE AS YOU GO
Don't switch all your products at once. Instead, replace your products as they run out. This is a fun and cost-effective way to discover new favourites. Plus, it helps you identify which products work for you and which don’t.

3. GIVE IT AN AUDITION
Even with natural products, you never know how your body will react. Get peace of mind by sampling products at the store before taking them home. If you bring a clean small empty container with you to one of our stores, we'd be happy to send you home with a sample for those products that are a bit tougher to test in stores (aka shampoo). And if all else fails, there's the 100% money back guarantee so you can't really go wrong.

4. CONSIDER THE PACKAGING
If a natural product is wrapped up in a ton of unnecessary packaging, this should raise a flag for you. Do a bit of fact-checking to ensure you know the difference between the companies that are the real deal versus those taking advantage of the natural trend.

5. JOIN THE TOXIN-FREE COMMUNITY
You don’t need to walk this path alone! Follow along on our blog or if you haven't already, subscribe to ouremail newsletters to get information on natural ingredients and products, recipes, and tips on toxin-free living. It’s one of the easiest ways to keep informed, inspired and motivated on your journey to natural.
