Soap is kind of a big deal here at Rocky. We’ve got all kinds, from Fennel & Charcoal to Baby Bear. While these soaps may have a firm place in your shower routine or at your sinkside, did you know we make three specialty bars? These lesser known heroes certainly have a job to do. Check out how to use them and why we think they deserve a little love too.

Peppermint Shave Bar

Wave goodbye to your aerosol can of shaving foam and swap it for this minty fresh bar. Why is this soap different to our regular bars? We’ve added both cocoa butter and castor oil for hydration and an extra foamy lather so you can see where you’ve shaved. Fullers earth clay enables the razor to glide smoothly across the skin. So you’ll get a close shave every time without the nicks or razor burn. It works equally well for getting rid of facial stubble as revealing silky, smooth legs.

How to Use the Peppermint Shave Bar:
  1. Get your skin wet.
  2. Rub the soap between your hands to get a lather going before applying to your face or body.
  3. Want more of a foamy lather? After your skin is soapy, rub it vigorously to work the soap into creamier suds.
  4. Glide away! Let your razor do the hard work and then feel how smooth your skin is.

What our customers say about the Peppermint Shave Bar…

“I LOVE this bar. I love everything about it. I love that it is natural. I love the scent. I love how great my legs feels after I shave. I love that it doesn't make a huge lathery mess. I love that it lasts such a long time. In my opinion this shave bar is perfection. It might be worth noting that I originally bought this for my husband, but then he decided to grow a beard. So I claimed it as my own and am so glad I did.” - Julie, Ontario.

“My husband has always suffered with ingrown hairs and found shaving painful to the point of avoiding it except when absolutely necessary. We tried different products and shavers, but none seemed to work. My husband was, admittedly, very sceptical of this soap at first, but he tried it, and he's glad that he did. He has been using this soap for about 3 years and has not had a shaving problem since; no ingrown hairs and no painful after-shave burn, ever. It's a great product.” - Janna, Red Deer.

“I feel like this is one of Rocky Mountain Soaps Co.’s hidden gems of a product. I like this bar because it’s solid and easier to travel with than a shave gel or cream. It works for both him and her so it allows me and my partner to travel extra light.” - Rocky staff member

Natural Shampoo Bar with Rosemary

Natural shampoo bar with rosemary

Your travel companion never smelt so good. Perfect for taking on the go, this bar can be used as both shampoo and a body soap. What makes this soap work as a shampoo? We’ve added rosemary oil which helps to increase circulation to the scalp, while castor oil leaves the hair feeling soft and smooth. Great for dry or flaky scalps, we think this soap works best on shorter hair. For longer hair, pay close attention to rinsing all the soap from the lengths of your hair.

How to Use the Shampoo Bar:
  1. Wet your hair.
  2. Rub the soap directly onto your hair until it lathers.
  3. Work the lather thoroughly into the scalp with your fingers.
  4. Rinse your hair while scrubbing to ensure all the shampoo is removed.
  5. Follow with a natural conditioner for best results.

What our customers say about the Shampoo Bar...

“So, you take this bar of Rocky Mountain soap that acts as a shampoo, rub it all over your head in the shower (and I can keep my eyes open – yay!), and then rinse. What’s the magic?
The “magic” is that it washes your hair, not your scalp [...] My hair is clean and looks the same. Nothing smells bad (the soap smells nice—it has rosemary in it). My scalp doesn’t feel like an oil slick. The only difference in my scalp I notice is, IT DOESN’T ITCH ANYMORE!” Read James’s full review on our shampoo bar.

Adara has some great tips on switching to the shampoo bar:
“In my efforts to go zero waste I gravitated to this bar. My hair is thick, prone to oilyness, a bit of a flaky scalp and I also have short hair. At first this bar left my hair waxy and greasy feeling. My solution was to use a regular bar of (rocky mountain) soap to clear up any buildup from any other product I was using previous making sure to get my scalp. Then used the bar and I haven't gone back since. I'll do the same thing after I use hair gel to get rid of any buildup. I'll also use an apple cider vinegar rinse if my hair is feeling dry. My hair is soft and has good body. I highly recommend it. Don't give up on this great bar!” - Adara, Winnipeg

Spotless Stain Remover

Spotless stain remover

Dirt, grass and even blood stains are no match for this mighty little bar. Safe for your clothes, the environment and you, this soap is free of synthetic chemical and harsh sulfates commonly found in stain removers. The bar is unscented so if you have very sensitive skin, you can even grate a little to use it as a natural laundry detergent.

How to Use the Spotless Stain Remover:
  1. Dampen the stained area and wet the soap bar.
  2. Rub the soap over the stain until it begins to lather and the stain disappears.
  3. For stubborn stains, leave the soap on for 10 minutes before laundering.

What our customers say about the Spotless Stain Remover...

“This is honestly the best stain remover I have ever used. It has taken blood out of a white cotton shirt, dirt and grass stains out of my wedding dress, and black pant dye out of my yellow sofa. It is easy on my hands and just as easy on the fabric it is applied to. If you need to use it more than once or scrub a little it won't result in raw hands or ruined material. My go to over anything else!” Courtney, Alberta

“I used the bar to clean a diaper mess in a white sleeper. I figured there was no way a stain like that was going to come out. I rubbed the bar on the stain with some water and let it sit for 10 min and when I rinsed it the bright yellow stain was GONE! This product is AMAZING!!! And I love knowing they are natural ingredients for my baby!” Melissa, Saskatchewan
