At Rocky, we see nature differently. We believe in its wisdom, in its wild beauty and in its infinite potential. The very products we create are made from nature, intentionally formulated and handcrafted in the Canadian Rockies. We have a deep connection and respect for the natural world that sustains which is why giving back to nature is so important to us.

By partnering with non-profits and charities that share our deep appreciation for nature, we’re able to work together to protect and preserve the Earth we all share.

GIFTS THAT PRESERVE NATURE

Buy a gift set or gift box - donate $1

This holiday season, for every gift box or gift set you purchase, we’re giving back to nature by donating $1 to the Nature Conservancy of Canada to support the preservation and protection of Canada’s wild spaces, including our prairie grasslands — one of the most endangered ecosystems on the planet.

Canada's temperate grasslands reflect the global trend with over 70% of Canada's prairie grasslands having been converted into crops and other land uses which have replaced what were some of the planet’s greatest concentrations of wild grazing animals. Essentially, these animals are losing their home. A 2010 report on Canada's major habitat types revealed that our grasslands are the only ecosystem experiencing persistent degradation and decline due to extensive conversion and insufficient protection.

Why the preservation of Canada’s grasslands is so important:

  • Biodiversity: Vital to sustaining Canada's diverse plants and wildlife.
  • Carbon storage: Stores carbon in soil and vegetation, slowing climate change.
  • Water Filtration: Purifies and filters water vital to aquatic ecosystems.
  • Erosion Control: Dense root systems reduce soil erosion and land degradation.
  • Cultural Significance: Hold cultural and historical importance for indigenous peoples and local communities.

ABOUT THE NATURE CONSERVANCY OF CANADA

The Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) is Canada’s leading national land conservation organization. As a private, non-profit land trust, they work collaboratively with individuals, Indigenous communities, other non-profits and governments at all levels to accelerate conservation across the country. Their mission is simple: to protect natural areas that sustain Canada’s plants and wildlife. Since 1962, generous donors and partners have helped them protect 15 million hectares across Canada, and they’re far from done. You can learn more about The Nature Conservancy of Canada here.
